Unhappy that I paid up front by booking.com.
The decor was brilliant and very pleasing and comfortable. The food was very well prepared and presented and the room generally clean. Staff were very polite and we were given an apology for the lack of towels.
No hand towels, broken toilet flush, exposed and dangerous air conditioner controller creating a stuffy room, insects in the bath.

We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend and hopefully return.
Beautiful interior with stained glass windows, marble pillars and surfaces and huge paintings in gilt frames. It was a pleasure just to walk around the expanse of the building and take in the opulence. Corridors lined with dark oak panelling and wall sconces reminiscent of Arturian days. The restaurant resembled a medieval dining hall, lavishly decorated with drapes and cushions. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a wonderful view of the countryside. Dinner was beautifully served by excellent staff. Could not fault this hotel at all. Monica, on reception, was particularly helpful in explaining the history of the building.

XIX century hotel atmosphere! Free parking! Comfy and cozy! Nice garden in front of the hotel! Very good breakfast! Staff very friendly but hard to speak in English!
